A Day of great Yukon Activities!
Action. Excitement. Fun.
Canoe trip
Start with a 3-4 hour self-guided paddle down the Yukon River in either a canoe or kayak. The river trip from downtown Whitehorse to the Takhini River bridge is about 18 km long and an easy low skill canoe trip, however enjoyable for novice and experienced paddlers. We provide you with all necessary gear and a detailed river map, so you will find us at the end of this water trip. Detailed instruction will set you on your way.
You will pass eagle nests, cliff swallows, shore birds, ducks and possibly some wildlife on shore. The river is both broad and lazy, and narrow and swift. The banks are either tall clay cliffs, forested banks or sandy pull-up areas. A taste of the wilderness within reach of the City.
Visit to the Yukon Wildlife Preserve
Enjoy a picnic lunch at the Wildlife Preserve.
Then learn about the mammals of the North. See wild animals in their natural habitats and hear about their extraordinary lives on our educational interpretative tour.
